The [14/17] University of Denver women's lacrosse team claimed its fifth win of the season in a 20-6 victory against Fresno State at Peter Barton Lacrosse stadium on Wednesday. The Pioneers improved to 5-1, while the Bulldogs dropped their third-straight falling to 2-4 on the season. Denver outshot the Bulldogs 49-17 in the contest, led by Quintin Hoch-Bullen and Eliza Radochonski, who each recorded five goals and one assist for the Pio offense. Bea Behrins also recorded six points for the Crimson and Gold, notching a trio of goals and three assists. Molly Little recorded a team-high seven draw controls, while Laura Milleker led the Pioneer defense with two caused turnovers. In goal for the Pioneers was Carson Gregg who recorded her 300th career save en route to eight saves on the day. The senior also chipped in a team-high three ground balls. The Pios came out strong in the first half, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. The Bulldogs were quick to answer, scoring three-straight to knot things at three before Behrins and Ellie Curry came up with a pair of goals for the Pioneers, sparking a 7-0 Denver run. Fresno State was able to net its fourth goal of the game with 3:23 remaining in the half to cut the Denver lead to six, but Sammie Morton closed things out for Denver, scoring late to put the Pios on top 11-4 heading into the break. DU stayed hot in the final 30 minutes of action with Radochonski scoring back-to-back goals to kick things off before Mackenzie Wallevand netted her first career goal with 19:17 remaining in the second half to give Denver a 15-5 advantage. Continuing to dominate offensively, Denver went on an 8-1 run featuring six different goal scorers to close out the contest, sealing the deal at 20-6. DU will return to action at Peter Barton Lacrosse stadium on March 8th against Fairfield (1 PM MT). SHOP PIONEERS: Get dressed for Game Day!
