The [16/20] University of Denver women's lacrosse team earned its third straight win in a 13-6 victory over Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Denver improved to 7-1 on the season, while the Chants fell to 2-3. "Coastal played a tough game today." Liza Kelly said. "Their goalie was brilliant. I was proud of my teams fight and heart especially with the news of so many of our lacrosse families playing what could be their last games." Quintin Hoch-Bullen brought the heat for the Pioneer offense, netting a team-best five goals to go along with three assists, while Molly Little recorded a team-high seven draw controls. Four different Pioneers had multi-turnover games helping the defense hold the Chants to just eight shots through 60 minutes of action. Carson Gregg spent 55 minutes in goal for DU, recording her seventh win of the season and coming up with a team-best four ground balls. Despite Coastal Carolina striking first, Denver went on a 3-1 run to take its first lead of the afternoon with 14:22 remaining following a goal from Hoch-Bullen. Bea Behrins added a goal with 1:26 remaining, while Hoch-Bullen chipped in two more to stretch the Pioneer lead to 6-3. The Chants scored the final goal of the frame to cut the Denver lead to 6-4 heading into halftime. DU came out strong in the second half with five different Pioneers contributing to a 6-0 run in the opening 13 minutes of play. The Chants answered, scoring a pair of goals later in the half but Ellie Curry closed things out for the Pios, ending a 15-minute scoring drought and sealing the deal for the Crimson and Gold at 13-6.
