Mount Union's men's lacrosse team defeated Wilmington 17-2 Wednesday night at Mount Union Stadium. As part of the conference only schedule in 2021, this game was among four of the games that will not count in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings. The Purple Raiders got three goals and three assists from junior Logan Addonizio (Wixom, Mich. / Walled Lake Western), Alek Kungle (Hartville / Lake) scored three goals with one assist and two goals each from sophomores Logan Gebhart (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) and Justin Kroeger (Mentor) as they improved their overall record at 3-1 and stayed 2-0 in the OAC. Wilmington got one goal from Austin Young and Sawyer Starrett and fell to 0-4 overall and stayed 0-2 in the OAC. Addonizio scored first for Mount Union with a goal 37 seconds into the game. This being the fastest goal to start a game in Mount Union history. Wilmington tied the game up at 1 at the halfway mark in the first quarter. Addonizio put Mount Union back on top with another goal and had an assist to Gebhart for a score to end the first quarter up 3-1. The Purple Raiders grabbed two goals with one from Gebhart assisted by senior Matt Bisono (Deer Park, N.Y. / Deer Park) and then junior Alex Ellison (Uniontown / Lake) assisted by Addonizio to go up 5-1. Wilmington got its second goal of the game at the 11:43 mark in the second quarter.
