Alderson Broaddus men's lacrosse got out to a quick start scoring the first goal but Lake Erie grabbed the 23-4 victory in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. AB falls to 1-5 on the season with a record of 1-2 in conference action. Lake Erie improved to 4-5 and 2-2 in conference play with the win. Cameron Russo got the Battlers on the board first with a goal at 13:26 to play in the first half. Braxton Roman regained the lead for the Battlers at 2-1 with a score with 10:57 to play in the first period. LEC racked up four four straight goals to end the period and took the 5-2 advantage into the second quarter. Jay Shifflet found the back of the net for the Battlers to cut the deficit to two for the Storm, but Lake Erie sprinted for 7 unanswered goals and took the 12-3 lead into halftime. The Storm scored five goals out of the break before Roman collected his second goal of the day with 12:40 to play in the fourth. Lake Erie grabbed six more goals to make the final score 23-4 on Tuesday afternoon. Roman led the Battlers with two goals on the day followed by Russo and Shifflet, both had one goal apiece. Brandon Heath picked up six ground balls on the defensive end and had two caused turnovers for AB. Noah Christopher was in goal for the Battlers and had 12 saves in the afternoon. Alderson Broaddus (1-5, 1-2 G-MAC) are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania to face the #3 Lakers of Mercyhurst University (7-1, 3-0 G-MAC). First face-off is scheduled for 1 pm.
