Ian Kirby set a new career-high in points Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 conference tilt against Southern New Hampshire. With a team-leading five goals from Kirby, the Panthers (8-0, 4-0 NE10) went on to secure a 19-7 victory on Motamed Field. The early going saw shots from both sides but no goals until 9:31 when Michael Osmundsen netted his first of the contest. He scored again nearly four minutes later but not before John Arcidiacono got in on the action to help the Panthers lead 3-0 with five to play in the opening quarter. Southern New Hampshire (2-4, 1-2 NE10) managed to break the silence with a tally to end the first and then to open the second, but the home team went on a six goal run through the next two frames to lead 9-2 after two minutes into the third. The Penmen were outscored 9-4 in the third frame alone, as the hosts double their shots (14-7) all starting with 13 wins at the faceoff X. For the game, Mark Andrejack finished 19-26 at the faceoff, collecting eight ground balls along the way. Michael Paccione scored his first tally of the game in the final quarter to maintain a double-figure advantage over SNHU, but the Penmen were able to respond with a score of their own after Kevin Rice took over in goal for the home team. He quickly saw several more consecutive shots, after the visitors started winning the faceoff, but ultimately came away with five saves and only one goal allowed. For Adelphi, Cole Harriet and Tyler O'Brien scored the final two goals of the contest, both in man-up situations for the Brown and Gold. Thomas Vsquez took over between the pipes for Rice, making just his second appearance in goal and closing out the game with two saves and no goals allowed to earn the team's "game ball" awarded by the coaching staff. Defensively, the Panthers held a 13-9 edge in caused turnovers with three courtesy of Osmundsen. Sean McGovern was also responsible for a team-leading eight ground balls in the victo The team is back in action on Wednesday, March 27 when they host Pace University in league action. Both teams are the only remaining NE10 members that post a spotless record in 2019.
