Ben Davidson tallied five caused turnovers against host Chowan to become the program's all-time leader with 54 caused turnovers in his career, while Jonathan Barry and Ryan Beauchamp combined for eight goals, to lead the Bobcats to a thrilling 15-14 victory over the Hawks in the Conference Carolinas action this afternoon. THE BASICS FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae – 15; Chowan - 14 LOCATION: Garrison Stadium – Murfreesboro, North Carolina RECORDS: Lees-McRae (1-9/1-4), Chowan (1-10/0-6) HOW IT HAPPENED: Barry finished with four goals and three assists, while Beauchamp added four goals. J.P. Daniels scored twice, while J.P. Galloway chipped in a pair of assists. Mike Moore, Ryan Bird, Craig Barr, and Brady Ferriter all scored, with Moore and Barr adding an assist. Chowan sprinted out of the gates by opening the scoring just 43 seconds into the contest before the Bobcats evened the score on a goal by Barr just under four minutes later. Lees-McRae scored three unanswered goals, with two going to Barry and one to Beauchamp, to give the Bobcats a 4-2 in the second stanza. The Hawks finished the first half on a 3-2 run to cut the Lees-McRae lead to 6-5 at the halftime whistle. The Bobcats tallied five goals in the third frame, with Galloway, Bird, Daniels, Moore, and Ferriter all scoring, to extend the lead to 11-9 after 45 minutes of action. Chowan scored four of the first five goals in the fourth quarter to reclaim a 13-12 lead. Barry and Daniels scored just 39 seconds apart to even the score at 14-14, while Barry tallied his fourth goal of the contest with just 1:21 remaining that would turn into the eventual game-winning goal. Joshua Csanyi made 11 saves in net for the Bobcats. Chowan held a slim 25-24 edge in shots-on-goal, while Lees-McRae maintained a 42-40 advantage in ground balls and finished 18-21 on clear attempts. FOR THE FOES: Eric George finished with a game-high seven goals to go along with three assists to pace the Hawks. Jaxon Martin scored twice, while Nathan Woodhill tallied nine saves in net for Chowan.
