– Six Bobcats scored, while Joshua Csanyi tallied a game-high 13 saves, but it was not enough as visiting nationally-ranked Mount Olive scored 10 goals in the second quarter to claim a 17-7 win in the regular-season finale this afternoon. THE BASICS FINAL SCORE: No. 12 Mount Olive – 17; Lees-McRae – 7 LOCATION: Tate Field – Banner Elk, North Carolina RECORDS: No. 12 Mount Olive (10-1/5-1), Lees-McRae (1-10/1-5) HOW IT HAPPENED: J.P. Galloway finished with two goals and an assist to pace the Bobcats, while both Mike Moore and Craig Barr posted a goal and an assist. Ryan Beauchamp, Ryan Bird, and Tyler Finley also scored. Lees-McRae sprinted out of the gates by scoring two of the first three goals, with both Barr scoring at the 13:12 mark and Galloway scoring just under five minutes in the contest. The Bobcats scored once more in the first quarter on an extra-man goal by Beauchamp, while Mount Olive scored three to take a 4-3 lead at the first intermission. The Trojans extended their lead with a 10-0 second-quarter run to take a 14-3 lead at halftime. After Mount Olive pushed the deficit to 16-3 with four minutes to play in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats scored four of the final five goals, with tallies going to Moore, Finley, Galloway, and Bird, to complete the scoring. Csanyi played all 60 minutes in net for the Bobcats. Mount Olive held a 30-13 shots-on-goal advantage and held the Bobcats to 1 of 5 on extra-man opportunities. FOR THE FOES: Connor Watson scored a game-high five goals to pace the Trojans, while Aidan Lalonde chipped in three goals and an assist. Andrew Avarello and Matthew Stidham shared time in net for Mount Olive and tallied a combined six saves.
