Despite scoring six goals in the third quarter to take an 11-8 lead, the men's lacrosse team fell to the Griffins of Chesnut Hill College, 14-12, in non-conference play. The Lions now sit at 4-7 on the season while CHC improved to 5-4 with the victory. How it Happened In a low-scoring opening frame, the Griffins took a 2-1 lead with Molloy's goal coming from the stick of junior Kevin Pastier following a feed from freshman Brian Ford. Pastier notched a hat trick in the opening half, netting two goals in the second quarter to bring the Lions within one, 6-5, at the half. The Griffins netted the first two goals of the second half, but the maroon and white fired off six unanswered goals, including two from sophomore Jack Egan to take an 11-8 lead headed into the final 15 minutes of play. Egan completed the hat trick by scoring the first marker of the fourth quarter to give Molloy a four-goal lead. Chestnut Hill, however, tallied six unanswered goals in the final six minutes of action to take the 14-12 victory. Top Performances Junior Anthony Teresky led the maroon and white with five points on two goals and three assists. Pastier (four goals) and Egan (three goals, one assist) each added four points. Ford, junior Colin Kotarski, and senior Michael Scheuerer each added one goal and one assist for the Lions while freshman Robert Lopez tallied one assist. Senior Justin English went an impressive 20-of-29 on face-offs and led with nine ground balls. Senior Mike Durkin added eight ground balls while causing four turnovers. Sophomore Michael Kessler made 12 saves in the effort. Looking Ahead The Lions return to East Coast Conference action on Saturday (Apr. 13) against Saint Thomas Aquinas College at 12:00 p.m.
