With an emphatic 22-11 victory over Davis & Elkins this afternoon, Lake Erie ensured the regular season finale wouldn't be the final one of the year. The Storm (4-9, 4-2) will now advance to the G-MAC Tournament next week while the Senators (2-9, 1-4) still have a game against Seton Hill in limbo. Although the Green and White never trailed, the hosts did threaten in the second quarter. Lake Erie led 6-3 after one, but the Senators were able to score three of the first four goals to make it a 7-6 contest before the Storm took over. That's when Kyle Barna scored with 8:45 to go in the period to start a 7-0 rally that put the game out of reach. Micah Daigle followed along with Nathan "Beans" Quinn and Tim Bay to end the half. Lake Erie then started the third quarter with goals by Balin Wallace, Brandon Sheedy, and Tommy Bichsel to make the score 14-6. Tim Bay led the offense with two goals and six assists on the day. Wallace, Cromie, Barna, and Daigle all had three goals. Defensively Conor Sharkey made 12 saves on 32 shots faced and added a pair of ground balls. Tyler Manning, Jordan Hendrycks and Mack Fall led that department with five each. With the postseason bid clinched, Lake Erie will now square off with Mercyhurst in the semifinals. Seton Hill will serve as the host as the regular season conference champions.
