Attendance: 618 HIGHLIGHTS - UMass' win over No. 15/20 Yale is its first victory over a ranked team since defeating No. 20 Penn State on March 19, 2016 in State College. - Sophomore Tyler Bogart finished with four goals while senior Dan Muller had two goals and an assist. Freshman Jeff Trainor also had two goals and an assist. - Massachusetts was 4-for-4 in man-up opportunities while scooping up 19 ground balls and winning 14-of-24 faceoffs. FIRST QUARTER Massachusetts struck first and early with sophomore Tyler Bogarts finding the back of the net 50 seconds into the opening frame, assisted by senior Dylan Gruder. Senior Dan Muller and junior Buddy Carr also scored goals. The Minutemen finished the first 15 minutes leading 3-2. SECOND QUARTER Matt Gaudet scored first for Yale to open the second quarter and tied the game at three. Back-to-back goals from Bogart gave UMass a 5-3 lead at the 10:10 mark. The Bulldogs scored two more before freshman Jeff Trainor's goal gave the Minutemen the 6-5 lead heading into the half. THIRD QUARTER Goals from Muller, sophomore Ben Spencer and Trainor gave UMass a 9-5 lead at the 8:51 mark of the third quarter. Yale's Ben Reeves scored two goals in 120 seconds to cut the Minutemen lead to two, 9-7. FOURTH QUARTER Jack Tigh and Reeves tied it up for the Bulldogs with 8:20 to play. Massachusetts solidified the win with Bogart's fourth goal of the night and senior Grant Consoletti's first score in the final 2:18 of play.
