The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (2-4) came from behind in the fourth quarter to down Walsh (0-6), 11-10, in non-conference play Saturday afternoon at the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. The Lions, down 10-7 with just under seven minutes remaining, scored four unanswered goals to come away with their second win of the season. Tremain Hill began the run with his sixth of the year and 1:45 later, Parker Beaudry's fourth goal of the game pulled Mars Hill within one. Jake Trafton, who assisted on Beaudry's goal, tied the game at 10 with his 14th on the season with Hill assisting. Mars Hill took their first lead of the contest with 1:05 left in the game as Zac Carrigan whipped the game-winning goal behind Patrick Cuddihy for the Lions' 11th tally of the contest. Walsh opened the game with a four-goal first quarter. Tyler Stowell recorded the first goal on the afternoon and was followed by two markers from Evan Bradley and one by Sully Downing. The Cavaliers extended their lead to 6-0 before ending the first half with goals from Jake Cieszynski and Kevin McMahon. In a reversal of the first quarter, Mars Hill dominated the third frame by scoring four straight to narrow the deficit to two. Trafton and Carrigan scored the first two goals for Mars Hill, followed by Connor Fernandes and Beaudry. With 10 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Stowell's second goal of the game extended the Cavaliers lead to three entering the final 15 minutes of play. Beaudry scored two of the first three goals of the final frame while Brent Mitchell netted the first two Cavaliers goals of the fourth. Jackson Courson's fourth of the season pulled the Lions within one before Mitchell's second and Brian Apshago's markers reestablished the Walsh lead to 10-7 with 6:56 left in the contest. Beaudry led all players with four goals in the contest while Carrigan (2g, 2a) added another four points for Mars Hill. Bradley and Stowell each recorded two goals and one assist on the day. Joel Borman stopped a career-high 18 saves, including eight in the second half, to pick up his second win of the year. Cuddihy made 12 saves in the loss.
