SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – The American International College men's lacrosse team lost its home opener to Post University by a score of 11-4 on Tuesday, February 19. The teams traded goals again, with freshman attacker Jason Vickery netting a goal at 9:04 in response to a Post strike. The Eagles took the lead again on a man-up goal at 10:27 and carried that 3-2 edge into the second. Both teams scored twice in the second frame; Post extended its lead at 2:30, but AIC tied the game on back-to-back goals as Vickery scored at 4:42 and rookie attacker Rusty Stone struck at 6:45. However, Mark Colella notched a goal 56 seconds later, and that 5-4 lead lasted into the intermission. For quite some time in the third, neither team scored; Colella broke the drought at 9:46, and then set up Justin Nogueira at 13:45 to make the score 7-4 in Post's favor. Two difficult saves by rookie goalkeeper Stephen Stratton in the final seconds of the frame kept the deficit to three. The Eagles had control of momentum and scored four times in the fourth to generate the 11-4 final.
