Brendan Nichtern led the Cadets with seven points on four goal and three assists. Miles Silva posted another five goals on the day as well. Nicholas Garofano and Danny Kielbasa recorded two assists each, while Connor DeWitt had a pair of tallies. Wyatt Schupler made eight saves for his sixth victory of the season in net. HOW IT HAPPENED The Black Knights took a 1-0 lead after a successful ride when Silva forced a turnover and Nichtern picked it up and scored. Lafayette netted its only goal of the half with 5:57 left in the first quarter, but the Black Knights rallied for a 10-0 run. Silva scored twice in the run and DeWitt, Stevie Grabher, Nickolas Edinger, Sean O'Brien and Jacob Morin all tallied one. Nichtern posted three more goals and two assists in the run as well. He scored with 15 seconds left in the half to put Army on top 11-1. Silva kicked off the second half with back-to-back goals before the Leopards tallied four of their own. Matthew Horace netted his first-career goal on transition, but Lafayette scored again to make it a 14-6 game heading into the final quarter. DeWitt and Silva scored two goals spaced four minutes apart to start off the fourth quarter. Lafayette finished the game with two goals to cut Army's advantage to 16-8.
