The Lake Erie men's lacrosse team fell in another close contest today by the count of 16-13 to Young Harris to close out a four-game home stand to open the season. The Storm remain in search of their first win of the season after a brutal stretch of highly ranked opponents to open the year. The Mountain Lions improved their mark to 4-4 on the campaign. The Green and White were forced to play catch-up from the get-go after Young Harris jumped out to a 4-1 lead and led 5-2 after the first quarter. The Storm were able to cut the deficit down to two goals on various occasions, but couldn't get over the hump to tie the game except for early in the contest. It wasn't without plenty of opportunities as the Storm attack pelted the Mountain Lions' defense with shot after shot. The Storm took 22 attempts at the cage than Young Harris and outshot the visitors 53-21, but their goalkeeper was able to come up with 21 saves. Bret Swan was nearly perfect on face-offs as he won 31-of-33 taken on the day. He was perfect in the second half winning all 18. He was also superb after the face-offs with gaining possession as he picked up 23 ground balls as well to nearly equal the total of 27 registered by the Mountain Lions. Kyle Barna led the attack with four goals on 13 shots taken. Patrick Bay added two goals and two assists while his brother Tim scored one and dished out four helpers. Matt Cromie picked up three points on two goals and an assists. John Kezerian added a pair of scores as well. Tyler Manning played well on the defensive end for the Storm with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Jordan Hendrycks added seven and Tim Bay picked up five. The Storm will now prep for their first road game at Maryville this Saturday. Face-off against the Saints is set for 1 p.m.
