The Brockport men's lacrosse team (1-1) picked up their first win of the young season following a 12-5 victory at home against SUNYAC Western Division rival Oswego (0-1). Junior's Jack Peterson and Rocco Santillo led the Golden Eagles offense in goals, scoring three apiece. Peterson had a career high day with four points (three goals, one assist). 10 different Golden Eagles registered at least one point on the afternoon with eight of them finding the back of the net. Rocco Santillo started off the Green and Gold's hot offense by putting the team on the board with his first goal of the season at 12:23. From there on out Brockport maintained the lead all game. Liam O'Connor, Owen VanWie and Peter Scavone scored the next three goals of the game to put Brockport up 4-0 before Oswego could answer with a goal before the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was all Brockport. Just as he started the game, Santillo scored his second goal of the day with an assist from O'Connor. Patrick Sheridan then got in on the action with a highlight behind the back goal assisted from DJ Stramonine. With the first of two hat tricks on the day, Santillo then recorded his third goal, giving Brockport a 7-1 lead heading into halftime. It wasn't until near the eight-minute mark of the third quarter when Peterson would get his second goal after a three-quarter field passing assist from junior long stick midfielder Aidan Fitzgerald. Stramonine got in on the second 4-0 run of the evening making it five unanswered goals as Peterson recorded his first assist of the year. Oswego and Brockport then traded a pair of goals to end the third quarter. Both of Brockport's goals to close out the quarter were picked up by Peterson with his third and final goal of the game coming with only 48 seconds left on the clock. Heading into the final quarter of the game Oswego recorded a goal before Max Riley scored his first goal of the season making one of his birthday wishes come true. Oswego ended up scoring the final goal of the game as the Brockport won their first conference game of the season. John Felice stopped nine shots in goal to pick up his first win of the season for Brockport. He also added six ground balls. Aidan Fitzgerald recorded six ground balls, three caused turnovers and chipped in with one assist. Max Riley posted three ground balls as well. Ethan Stiles went 11-for-21 in the face off circle for the Green and Gold.
