– Davis Miller tallied four goals Thursday as the Greensboro College men's lacrosse team defeated the Cougars of Chatham University, 12-5. After neither team scored over the first nine minutes of the opening period, Greensboro found the back of the net four times over the next four minutes. Michael Halladay got the scoring started with a man-up goal before Spencer Kontoulas, Aidan Poole, and Austin Abourjilie scored one goal each. Following the Abourjilie goal, the Cougars scored the period's final goal with 2:20 on the clock. Early in the second period, Abourjilie struck once again to extend the Pride margin back out to four goals before Miller beat the keeper for the first time to make the score 6-1. With Greensboro holding the five-goal lead, Halladay scored two more goals over a two minute span before Chatham struck once again to make the score 8-2 at the half. As the third period got underway, the physicality began to pick up on both sides of the field and Kontoulas scored once again to make the score 9-2 before the Panthers pulled back to within six goals heading into the final 15 minutes. During that time, Chatham outscored the Pride 3-2, but Greensboro was able to hold them off for the seven-goal victory. Dominic Scali and Kontoulas both finished the game with two assists, while Patrick Bell and Philip Gerber had one assist each. Christopher Stallings made 15 saves on the day and was credited with the victory in goal. The Pride men will return to action Saturday when they host the Wildcats of Randolph College.
