The Red Dragons dropped to 2-3, while the Cardinals improved to 7-3. Junior Dante Yacavone (Homer) led Cortland with three goals and one assist, and senior Zak Jones (East Quogue/Westhampton Beach) tallied two goals and one assist. Juniors Pat Doyen (Miller Place) and Kyle Boden (Wading River/Shoreham-Wading River) and sophomore Luke Kilner (Highland Falls/James I. O'Neill) each netted a goal, freshman Colton Smith (Naples/Penn Yan Academy) scored his first career goal and junior Troy Morris (Long Beach) chipped in with two assists. Junior goalie Marc Esposito (West Babylon) turned aside 15 shots for the Red Dragons. Graduate student Darin Eakins (Hamburg, Germany/International School of Hamburg) stopped 12 shots in goal and scooped up four ground balls for the Cardinals.
