Ferrum College dropped a non-conference men's lacrosse game tonight at home to Greensboro College, falling 14-11 at W.B. Adams Stadium. The Pride outscored Ferrum 8-4 in the second half and hung on for the win. The game included a 40-minute lightning delay. RECORDS Greensboro (2-2) Ferrum (2-2) THE BASICS Ferrum led 2-0 early on a goal each by Derek Farwell and Mackoy Bodmer. Greensboro then used a 5-1 run to grab a 5-3 lead, with leading scorer Austin Abourjilie finding the back of the net three times. The Panthers rallied, with Farwell adding two goals, Bodmer one and Jack Sheehan one to give Ferrum a 7-6 lead heading into the break. Greensboro owned the third quarter, outscoring Ferrum 7-2, including two more goals by Abourjilie. Malachi Maxwell netted two goals in the fourth quarter and Drew Fedorich had one to get Ferrum to within 13-11 with 4:33 left in regulation, but Abourjilie added an insurance goal with 3:34 left for the final score of the night. Ferrum goalkeeper Patrick Martinek played all 60 minutes in net tonight and had 20 saves, which tied the school record for single game assists. Patrick Bell won 17 faceoffs for Greensboro.
