WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Zach Mey (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) scored a career-high eight goals and finished with 11 points as W&J rolled to a 23-6 victory over Mount St. Joseph Saturday in a non-conference game at Alexandre Stadium. The win is the third straight for the Presidents, who improve to 3-3 overall. W&J led 4-1 after the first before building a 10-3 lead at halftime. The Presidents outscored MSJ by a 6-2 margin in the third and 7-1 in the fourth. The Presidents dominated throughout as they held a 60-16 advantage in shots, which included a 37-10 edge in shots on goal. W&J also held a 59-25 advantage in ground balls and won 25 of 33 face-off opportunities. Parker Lucas (Delmar, Del./Delmar) registered a season-high five goals while Alex Strain (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) posted seven points (4g, 3a) to help back Mey's effort. Sam Snider (Morgantown, W.Va./University) tallied three goals to finish with his second straight hat trick. Carter Watts (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) added six points (1g, 5a) for W&J. Ronin Keane (Medford, Mass./Arlington Catholic) won 24-of-32 face-offs, added 11 ground balls and three caused turnovers. James Deiuliis (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) tallied eight ground balls and a team-high five caused turnovers. Nathan Petrarco (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) registered seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. Henry Beardwood (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) finished with four saves in goal as he picked up his third victory of the year. W&J travels to La Roche on Wednesday, March 23. The match will be the final non-conference game of the season for the Presidents.
