The William Peace University men's lacrosse team defeated (12-9) Emmanuel College on March 8th. THE BASICS Final score: William Peace 12, Emmanuel 9 Records: William Peace (2-4), Emmanuel (0-3) Location:Holly Springs, NC HOW IT HAPPENED Samuel Burghardt kicked things off quickly by scoring within the first two minutes for Emmanuel College (1-0).Both teams would take many shots but neither would find the back of the net until Parker Beebe would win out with a strong shot on goal to tie the game up (1-1). After that goal the Pacers would see another hole in the defense as they would score just seconds later with a goal from Brewer Warlick, assisted by Nick Falso (2-1). That wouldn't be all for Brewer Warlick as he would find the back of the net again just a few minutes later (3-1). Emmanuel College would not let the Pacers get away easily as they would tie the game back up before the end of the first period (3-3). Both teams came out in the second half blasting shots at each other. The first goal of the second quarter wouldn't come until 7 minutes into the quarter when Tre Galligan would give the Pacers a (4-3) lead. Finn Mcgrady would follow up with a goal of his own to extend the lead for the Pacers (5-3). Micah Schlabach would not let the Pacers get away as he kept the score close with a goal for Emmanuel College (5-4). In the third period, Brewer Warlick would complete his hat trick with another goal, assisted by Tre Galligan (6-4). Nick Faldo would back up Brewer Warlick with a goal of his own just 2 minutes later (7-4). Emmanuel College would score 3 consecutive goals quickly to tie the game up (7-7). Riely Murray would score again for the Pacers to give the Pacers a lead once again (8-7). Alex Flanagan would score an equalizer with just 5 seconds left in the 3rd quarter for Emmanuel College (8-8). In the final quarter, things heated up quickly. The Pacers would end up scoring 3 goals before Emmanuel College could score again to bring the game to (11-9). Brewer Warlick would seal the deal for the Pacers with the final goal of the game coming in the last minute of the game (12-9). PACER TOP PERFORMERS Brewer Warlick contributed 4 goals for the Pacers with 1 assist. Nick Falso tallied 4 assists with 1 goal. Nick Shelton had 11 saves between the pipes for WPU. FOR THE FOES Alex Flanagan recorded 2 goals and 1 assist. Randy Castle tallied 10 saves. STATS OF THE GAME Emmanuel tallied 35 shots on goal in comparison to WPU's 38.
