Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville Men's Lacrosse stumbled Sunday night in the 11th Jacksonville Lacrosse Classic to Utah, 16-10. Jeremy Winston had two goals to lead JU on the attack. In total, eight Dolphins had one goal each in the contest. Luke Millican took the decision between the pipes, stopping seven shots. Utah's Tyler Bradbury led the contest with four goals, as he was one of five Utes with multi-goal showings. Zion Dechesere picked up the victory between the pipes, halting 10 shots. Jacksonville scored the contest's first four goals, however the Utes answered closing the opening period scoring five of the next six goals, as the score was knotted at five entering the second quarter. A quiet second quarter offensively for both teams, which only had one total goal scored, ended with Utah entering halftime with a 6-5 advantage over the Dolphins. Utah opened the second half scoring back-to-back goals, however JU responded with two-straight of their own. The Utes closed the third quarter with a 4-1 run and entered the fourth holding a four-goal edge, 12-8. After allowing the first two goals of the fourth, Jacksonville answered with back-to-back of their own. However, the Utes would find the back of the net two times to close the game, defeating Jacksonville 16-10. Head Coach John Galloway's Comments "Today was a disappointing loss for our group, but I do not believe it will define us. I thought we made uncharacteristic mistakes, and a team as disciplined as Utah will make you pay for it. The good news is I know what this group is capable of, and we will use this game as a lesson to make sure it never happens again. I am excited to get back to work tomorrow with this team." Game Notes - Utah leads the all-time series over Jacksonville, 2-1. - Bryce Wojnovich's goal was the first of his collegiate career. - Max Waldbaum and Jacob Greiner have scored in each of the Dolphins' first seven contests to begin the campaign. Up Next The Green and White hit the road once again, traveling north to face Bellarmine on Saturday. Opening faceoff from Louisville is scheduled for 12 PM.
