Conner Heisman posted three goals and four assists to lead visiting Widener to an 18-11 win over host Washington College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game played today on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. Widener 18, Washington College 11 How It Happened - Joe Tobin got the scoring started with an unassisted goal 4:47 into the game, but Widener scored the last four goals of the quarter to take a 4-1 lead after the first. Paz Gismondi scored two of the goals during the run, including a man-up goal off an assist from Timmy Certeza with 3:05 left in the quarter that put the Pride ahead for good at 2-1. - Logan Clefisch scored an unassisted goal 40 seconds into the second quarter and Cody Pascale followed that with a goal 34 seconds later off an assist from Alex Kilgour to cut the lead to 4-3 with 13:46 left in the opening half. - That's as close as the Shoremen would get, however, as Widener ran off the next five straight goals to take a 9-3 lead with 3:47 left in the second quarter on a man-up goal from Heisman with Gismondi getting the assist. Heisman factored into four of the five goals for the Pride during the run. - Jeremy Wilson scored a pair of unassisted goals separated by 68 seconds to cut the lead to 9-5 with 2:02 left in the half. The Pride however, got a pair of goals from Matt Coppola, the first with 31 seconds to go, and the second with 22 seconds to play following a Washington face off violation, to push the lead to 11-5 at the halftime break. - The Pride scored the first three goals of the third quarter to push the lead out to 14-5 with 4:12 to play. Luke Brennan would score off an assist from Clefisch and Tobin would add an unassisted goal with 10 seconds left in the third quarter to close the gap to 14-7 after three quarters of play. - Each team scored four goals in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin.
