The Villanova Wildcats got off to a quick 5-2 lead during the first quarter but fell to the Drexel Dragons on Sunday afternoon by a final of 15-10. Junior midfielder Connor Kirst scored four of Villanova's goal in the opening quarter with fellow middie Matt Campbell netted Villanova's other. The Dragons had three different players score in the opening 15 to make the score 5-3 Villanova at the end of one. Kirst picked things right up at the start of the second quarter scoring just under 40 seconds in. Villanova would then go on an almost 15 minutes scoreless streak. During that time Drexel capitalized and scored six goals alone before halftime to give them a 9-6 lead heading into the locker room. The Dragons would then net two more in the opening of the third quarter to go ahead 11-6 before Eric Overbay would end the scoreless stretch for Villanova at the 9:42 mark. Both teams scored one more goal before the end of the quarter to bring the game within four. In the final quarter Chris Donovan and Patrick Daly both scored goals for the Wildcats but it wasn't enough with Drexel scoring three more to make the final 15-10. SSDM TJ Comizio played well for the Wildcats on both sides of the field. The senior had four caused turnovers along with five ground balls. Comizio also dished out two assists. Currently he ranks fifth all-time in career caused turnovers. Overall the Wildcat's caused 13 turnovers against the Dragons with Patrick Kennedy causing three of them. Faceoff specialist Dan Fisher went 13-of-22 with a team high six ground balls. Next the Wildcats will take on Maryland on Saturday, March 16th at 1:00 P.M.
