Jacksonville women's lacrosse is advancing to the ASUN Conference tournament champion match for the fourth year in a row, after defeating Stetson 21-6 on Thursday. Molly Brock and Sarah Elms lead the way with stellar offensive performances as eight different Dolphins scored to propel the team to victory. Brock set the tone early after putting the Dolphins on the board within the first 55 seconds of the game before assisting Jenny Kinsey with her 35th goal of the season to make the score a quick 2-0. The Dolphins continued to take advantage of their control on offense, as they went on a 13-1 scoring run during the remainder of the half. At the 24:05 mark, Brock scored her second goal of the game and shortly after her third on a free position attempt, as she and Alyssa Arnold, Kinsey and Elms all found the net within a five minute span to make the score 7-0. JU did not let off the gas as Megan Prescott scored at 16:49 to make the game 8-0. The trio of Arnold, Elms and Brock kept the good times going, scoring the Dolphins' next three goals to make the score 11-0. Julia Kolderman contributed to the scoring frenzy, finding the net with just under 10 minutes to go the half. Stetson found the net for the first time with 7:27 to go in the period before back-to-back goals by Elms, followed by Brock's fifth goal of the game saw the half end with JU holding a 15-1 lead. The second half began in similar fashion as Arnold scored within the first minute to extend the lead to 16-1. Grace Hobson scored at 26:19 to extend her scoring streak to nine games. A Hatters goal at 20:31 made it 17-2 before Zoe Macrae earned her second goal of the season to make it, 18-2. Stetson showed some resolve in the second half, as they scored the next four goals of the game to make it an 18-6 game. However, the Hatters' burst of success on offense was shut down by back-to-back goals by Elms for there fifth and sixth goals of the day. As the clock continued to wind down, Brock closed out the game with her sixth goal of the game, setting a new season-best mark. Elms' performance marks her tenth game this season with a hat trick and her fifth game with at least five goals scored. Today's season-high of six goals marks Brock's sixth game with a hat trick, and her second game with five goals or more scored. Addy Tysdal picked up the win in goal for JU, as she recorded seven saves in the contest. The ASUN Championship game will take place on Saturday, May 8 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. JU will compete for the conference title against the winner of the Kennesaw State versus Liberty contest. The competition is set for 1:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
