LANCASTER, Pa. — Kevin Mollihan finished with nine points to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 13-6 win over Susquehanna in men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon. F&M improved to 2-1, while Susquehanna dropped to 2-1. Susquehanna went ahead early with a score two minutes into the game and after a Kevin Mollihan goal, the Rivers Hawks took a 2-1 lead at 10:58. The Diplomats countered with four straight to go out front for good. Luke Keating assisted Mollihan and Blake Target for the first two tallies and Ellis Llewellyn made it 4-2 at 5:21. Mollihan ended the run with an unassisted score, before Susquehanna struck at the end of the quarter to make it 5-3. F&M went ahead 7-3 with two goals in the first five minutes of the second. Keating had the first, followed by Tucker McBride who buried a pass from Mollihan at 10:31. The River Hawks scored at 3:50 to make it 7-4 heading into the break. Mollihan netted a pass from George Briggs to start off the scoring in the third, before the River Hawks scored at 7:04. The Diplomats ended the quarter with two unanswered to head into the final frame with a 10-5 advantage. Mollihan had an unassisted tally, before he fed Keating at 1:41 for the second point. The Diplomats ended strong with three goals in the final quarter. Briggs hooked up with Target for the first, before Mollihan struck with back-to-back scores. The last on an assist from Keating. Kevin Mollihan ended with seven goals and two assists, Luke Keating handed out three assists with two goals and Blake Target struck twice. Tucker McBride and Ellis Llewllyn both had a goal for the Diplomats. Noah Isaacson had four caused turnovers and three ground balls, Jarrett Donaghy had four ground balls and Kevin Mollihan had six. Timmy Hoarty won 17-of-22 face-offs and ended with 10 ground balls. Scott Hatched turned away six shots and improved to 2-1, while Dylan Abplanaply was saddled with the loss after finishing 17 saves. F&M led in ground balls at 45-18, went 19-for-21 in clear attempts and outshot the River Hawks 41-22. The Diplomats return to action on Saturday when F&M travels to Washington & Lee for a 12:00 p.m. game.
