ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Tyler Douglass netted three goals as Flagler College fell to Lynn University Wednesday afternoon at the Flagler Lacrosse and Intramurals Field. Flagler stays on the hunt for its first win, falling to 0-8. Lynn improved to 2-5 on the season. The first half was a closely contested opening 30 minutes, with Flagler maintaining a lead for the majority of the half, taking an 8-7 lead into the break. In the third quarter, Lynn took a 9-8 lead by scoring the first two goals of the half. Following the second goal, Flagler faceoff man Jake Griffin won the duel, picked up the ground ball and took it himself down the middle of the field to tie the game at 9 for his first goal as a Saint. Following Griffin's goal, Lynn responded with three goals of its own to open up a 12-9 lead halfway through the third quarter. Flagler brought the lead down to one to end the period, thanks to goals from Thomas Pritchard and Drew Flagg, who scored man-up. Lynn pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring eight unanswered goals. Geraint Shaw scored a man-up goal with 2:53 left, but that was all the offense the Saints could muster in the quarter. Eight different Saints found the back of the net. Pritchard and Shaw each had two, while Dylan Wilson, Ty Tom, Willy Bateman, Flagg and Griffin each provided one. Tom dished out a season-high four assists and caused two turnovers. Griffin won 14 of 28 faceoffs and scooped up 10 ground balls. The Fighting Knights were led by Joseph Michalski and Matthew Ilchuk, who each scored five goals and assisted on three of their teammates. Flagler hits the road for its next contest against No. 3 University of Tampa on Tuesday, March. 22 with the game set to start at 4 p.m. Be the first to know what's going on with the Saints -- Follow @FlaglerSports on Twitter, follow FlaglerSports on Instagram, become a fan of Flagler College Athletics on Facebook and subscribe to the Flagler College Athletics e-newsletter to receive the latest news, schedule updates and to interact with Flagler Athletics.
