VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton Men's lacrosse team (0-7, 0-1 AE) dropped a tight contest to UAlbany (3-4, 1-0 AE) 12-7 in the Bearcats conference opener. "There were a lot of points that I thought we did a good job today," head coach Kevin McKeown said. "UAlbany is a team that's had a lot of success in recent years. We have to do a better job capitalizing on some of the opportunities we had offensively. I thought our guys played hard today and showed great teamwork on the field, and I think it was a step in the right direction for us." Highlights The Bearcats outshot the Great Danes 38- 34 on the day. Jon Perotto put Binghamton on the board first just over a minute into the game. UAlbany scored six unanswered goals to jump ahead (2 from Nanticoke). William Talbot-Shere and Griffin Konen scored for Binghamton to make the score 6-3 at halftime. Talbot-Shere scored from a man-down shortly before Konen's 11th goal of the year made it a 7-5 Albany lead. Corey Yunker scored a hat trick as part of a 5-0 run for the Great Danes. Talbot-Shere tallied 4 points on the day, a season high for the attackman. Konen has scored in every game this season, with a total of 11 goals. Binghamton goalies combined for 13 saves on the day.
