Ho-hum. Just another UMBC men's lacrosse game. Not. The Retrievers (1-0) took the field for the first time in 51 weeks and routinely extended their winning streak to five. Not. UMBC trailed Mount St. Mary's (1-3), 7-4, with three minutes remaining on the UMBC Stadium clock. The Mount was primed to post their first-ever victory on the Retrievers' home field. But, UMBC scored three times in the final 2:58 of regulation and sophomore midfielder Mason Edwards (Alexandria, Va.) netted his first career goal just six ticks into the overtime period to hand the hosts an 8-7 overtime decision over the Mountaineers. Edwards' high school teammate and classmate, attackman Nick Dupuis forced overtime by curling around the left post and converting with 16 seconds left in regulation.
