The New York Tech men's lacrosse snapped a two-game losing streak with a 17-5 win over Caldwell on Wednesday afternoon at President's Stadium. New York Tech (3-2) used a balanced attack and started fast to earn the win over Caldwell (1-1), who is in its first season as a program, as 13 different players recorded a point. The Bears scored the first five goals of the game from three different goal scorers. Joseph Duchnowski and Andrew Zito scored twice while Austin Fitzpatrick contributed to the run with his third of the season. Duchnowski scored his fourth of the game with 1:04 left in the second quarter to complete his scoring for the afternoon and start an 8-0 run by the Bears that last until 11:09 of the fourth. Tech led 15-3 with Fitzpatrick's second of the game to conclude the run. Owen Healey had a hat trick for the Cougars, and Chris Snow supplied three assists. In goal for the Bears, Brendan Watt stopped 12 of the 17 shots Caldwell fired on the cage. Up next for New York Tech is a road trip to No. 20 Bentley on Saturday. Print Friendly Version
