The Hiram College men's lacrosse program opened North Coast Athletic Conference action, falling to The College of Wooster, 16-4, on Saturday afternoon. Playing in their third of five-consecutive road games, the Terriers kept the score close throughout the first quarter, before Wooster controlled the final three frames. The Scots snagged the first two scores of the game, getting goals from Joe Altieri and Shaun Peirce to take a 2-0 lead. Hiram's leading scorer, Tim Stucky, cut into the Wooster lead with 7:30 remaining in the quarter. His tally off and assist from Justin Dionne, marked his 18th of the year, and pulled Hiram within one (2-1). Wooster would add another score before Jaret Walland took advantage of a man-up situation, scoring his 14th of the year to trim the Wooster lead to 3-2. The home team would add a score in the waning seconds of the opening quarter, before scoring in the first minute of the second to push their lead to 5-2. Terrier junior Hunter Jenkins would then tally his first score of the game, pulling Hiram back within a pair. However, Wooster would control the remainder of the half, tallying the final four scores of the frame to lead 9-3 at the break. In the second half, the scoring belonged to the Scots. After Jenkins tallied the first of the half (9-4), Wooster closed the game on a 7-0 to round out the scoring. Stucky led the offensive scoring with three points (1g/2a), while Jenkins posted his second-straight multi-goal game since returning to the lineup. The Terriers continue their five-game road stretch on Wednesday, March 27, as they travel to Tiffin, Ohio to take on Heidelberg University. The matchup is slated for 7 p.m.
