The Denver Pioneers women's lacrosse team won its third straight game with a 17-3 victory in its BIG EAST opener against Butler on Friday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium. Inside the Box Score Eliza Radochonski (5-1-6) and Kailey Conry (1-5-6) had six points each, while Bea Behrins (2-2-4) and Hannah Liddy (0-4-4) had four-point games. Eleven Pioneers had points and 10 scored at least one goal. First Half Denver raced to a 6-0 start for the second straight game. Once Butler responded, the Pioneers stretched their lead to 9-1 and ultimately 13-2 by halftime. Radochonski had four goals through the first 30 minutes while Liddy contributed four assists and Conry had one goal and four assists. Second Half The second half was considerably tamer than the first. Butler added its third goal of the game six minutes after halftime and the Pioneers regained control from there to score four more goals and record their largest margin of victory this season. Denver's defense stayed staunch from start to finish going 21/23 on clears with 17 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls.
