No. 11 Penn picked up its fourth win of the season over a Top-25 opponent and improved to 7-0 overall in 2018 with a 15-11 win at No. 20 Duke – its first-ever win in Durham. The win has Penn off to its best start since the 2009 team went 13-0 to open the season – a campaign which ultimately reached the Final Four. Penn is one of four remaining unbeaten teams in the country. Six different players scored for Penn, led by freshman Zoe Belodeau who had five goals and seven points and Gabby Rosenzweig who had three goals and three assists. Senior co-captain Alex Condon scored four times, her final goal of the game the 100th of her career. Sophomore goalkeeper Mikaila Cheeseman had a career-high 14 saves, making 12 of those in the second half as Penn turned a one-goal halftime lead into a comfortable advantage. Notes To Know… Alex Condon is the 10th player in Penn Women's Lacrosse history to reach the 100-goal mark for her career. Condon had a season-high five points on her four goas and one assist. She added two caused turnovers, a draw control and a ground ball. Sophomore Gabby Rosenzweig finished with six points – her sixth game in a row with 6+ points. Rosenzweig has 38 points through seven games this season, averaging 5.4 points-per-game. In case you're wondering, Nina Corcoran set Penn's single-season scoring record in 2016 with 85 points – averaging 4.25 points-per-game. Sophomore Erin Barry had one goal and two assists, adding three caused turnovers, three ground balls and two draw controls. She has scored in all seven games this season and has 2+ draw controls in all seven games. Caroline Cummings had a career-high three assists, adding a goal. Freshman Abby Bosco had a career-high three ground balls. How It Happened After a first half where neither team led by more than two goals, Penn scored seven of the first nine goas in the second half to build a 14-8 lead that provided more than enough insurance room for the Quakers. Penn built an early 3-1 lead, scoring three in a row after the Blue Devils had struck first. Rosenzweig and Condon scored back-to-back free position goals before Rosenzweig scored on the man-up with 16:34 to go in the first half. Erin Barry factored heavily into that goal, first picking off a Duke clearing attempt and then working the give-and-go with Rosenzweig which led to the goal. Out of a Duke timeout, the Blue Devils rallied with two quick goals to tie the game, 3-3, with 14:15 left in the first half. Rosenzweig would complete her hat trick 1:09 after Duke tied the game, finding herself wide open when three Blue Devil defenders floated towards Condon and Condon would thread a pass to Rosenzweig at the goalmouth for the goal. The Blue Devils would score three of the next four goals to build a 6-5 lead with 7:21 remaining in the first half, but Penn would net the final two goals of the first period for a 7-6 lead at the break. Those two goals came off the stick of Belodeau, the first coming after Elyse Decker picked up a 50-50 ball and found Rosenzweig who then passed on to Belodeau at the goal. Belodeau would finish her natural hat trick by scoring the first goal of the second half with 25:03 left in the game. Her three goals were part of a 9-2 Penn run over a span of 24:16 which all but put the game away. Five different players scored in that run, taking advantage of Duke face-guarding Rosenzweig. The Quakers return to Franklin Field on March 21, hosting No. 2 Maryland at 7 p.m.
