RELATED LINKS Box Score COACH'S QUOTE "I'm so proud of this team and our senior class for ending the year the way we did," head coach Sarah Dalton said. "We had an outstanding two days of preparation and I think that really fueled us today. We were focused for the full 60 minutes and determined to win every single little play. I loved coaching this team and can't thank our seniors enough for everything they did this year to push our program forward." HOW IT HAPPENED The Catamounts wasted little time and built an early 7-0 lead. The scoring tandem of Elise Koehl, Jenna Janes, and Maris Large netted two goals apiece to fuel the run. The Bearcats broke the shutout at the 17:24 mark but the Green and Gold countered with eight unanswered goals in a 12-minute stretch. Koehl added three goals as five different Cats beat BU goalie Taylor Passuello (7 saves). Binghamton tallied its second goal of the afternoon with two minutes left in the half but UVM went into halftime with a comfortable 15-2 lead. UVM carried its momentum into the second half and outscored BU 8-1. The Cats opened the final frame with a six-goal run, highlighted by two goals from Large and three assists from Taylor Mullen. After Binghamton notched its last goal of the afternoon with four minutes left, Janes and Dani Paterno buried two goals in the late stages for the final margin of victory. GAME NOTES Koehl had a big day and led all scorers with eight points. The senior notched a double hat trick and handed out two assists. Vignona followed with six points on five assists and one goal. She recorded 41 assists this year and tied the school's single-season assists record. Janes matched Vignona with six points. The Baltimore, Maryland netted four goals and was credited with two assists. She also wrapped up her UVM career tied for sixth on the all-time points list (161) and seventh in career goals (117). Mullen set a career high with five points and four assists. Large and Paterno added their own hat tricks. Large provided the offensive attack with four goals and Paterno trailed with three goals and one assist. In goal, Maddy Kuras surrendered a season-low two goals and stopped five shots in 45:33 of action. Kuras ranks in the all-time top-10 in three stats – tied for third in wins (20), third in ground balls (144), and sixth in saves (475). The 23-goal performance matched the school's single-game record, set at Binghamton on April 20, 2008. Vermont's eight wins this season are the most since hitting the double-digit mark with 11 victories in 2015. Saturday was the final collegiate game for UVM's 10 seniors - Jenny Caoili, Catherine Green, Elise Koehl, Maddy Kuras, Jenna Janes, Micaela O'Mara, Katie Remien, Missy Riccio, Alex Vignona, and Charity Warner. 2019 RALLY AWARDS The 2019 Rally Awards are vastly approaching.
