HOW IT HAPPENED Notre Dame and VCU traded goals in the first three minutes to make it 1-1 before the Fighting Irish scored eight unanswered goals to push their lead to 9-1. Notre Dame led 10-2 at the half. The Rams were able to slow the Fighting Irish offense in the second half but Notre Dame was still able to push their lead to 15-2 with 14:55 remaining.
