Walter would then put Limestone back on top, 2-1, for good with an unassisted goal at the 8:11-mark. Sundown scored five straight for the Blue and Gold over the remainder of the period, outscoring Barton by himself, 5-2, over the final 7:25 of the quarter. He tallied back-to-back goals during the last 23 seconds of the frame – both goals assisted by Papa – as Limestone grabbed a 7-3 lead at the end of the first. Second Quarter Bennett found the back of the net twice to start the second before senior Patrick Hanley (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored to stake the Saints to a 10-3 cushion with 7:01 remaining. Barton posted two of the next three goals, but Burns and Walter would both score in the final 16 seconds to make it a 13-5 game at the break. Third Quarter A few ticks into the second half, Walter completed his hat trick before senior Coltin Moseman (Malta, N.Y.) added his only score of the game to put Limestone ahead, 15-5, with 12 minutes left. Hanley tallied his second goal of the day, but the Bulldogs answered two straight scores to cut the margin to 16-7. Fourth Quarter Limestone put the game out of reach early in the final period as Walter and Bennett both split the cage to make it an 18-7 contest. Graduate attack Brian Huyghue (Halifax, Nova Scotia) planted his 13th goal of the season at the 8:57-mark, finishing off an assist from Papa, to give the Saints a comfortable 19-7 lead. Senior Dylan Brown (Hagerstown, Md.) closed the book on the scoring for the Blue and Gold off an assist from junior Scott Manning (South Huntington, N.Y.) with over two minutes remaining in regulation. Barton got a couple of late scores, but it was not quite enough as Limestone moved to 14-0 on the season.
