HILADELPHIA, Penn. – On a day where Max Tuttle became the fourth player in SHU's Division I history (since 2000) to reach the 100-career goal milestone, the Sacred Heart men's lacrosse team responded in-kind with an offensive explosion to push past Furman, 18-11, from Radnor High School on Saturday morning. The Pioneers even their record at 1-1 on the season and improve to 3-0 all-time against Furman while the Paladins drop to 0-3 in 2019. Tuttle joins an exclusive list of Pioneers, that includes only Stephen Grabow '03 (129 career goals), Mike Mawdsley '14 (113) and Erick Perez '03 (105), to have scored 100 goals in SHU's 20-year Division I history. Needing four goals to hit 100 heading into today, Tuttle hit the milestone in style as he pumped in six goals (one off his career-high) with two assists to as he matched his single-game career-high with eight points. Even with the six-goal total, Tuttle wasn't the sole source of offense on the day for SHU as nine different Pioneers scored in the seven-goal victory. The 18-goal output is the highest single-game total for SHU since defeating Vermont 21-17 back on March 14, 2015 (61 games ago).
