Senior Dylan Jinks had a career day on Saturday, but it wasn't enough for the Hartford men's lacrosse team, as St. John's took an 18-10 decision on Al-Marzook Field. Jinks tied a program record with eight goals, adding an assist for a game-best nine points. Hartford dips to 0-1, while St. John's, which was led by five goals from Jonathan Huber, improves to 1-1 on the season. PHOTO GALLERY ST. JOHN'S 18, HARTFORD 10 St. John's came out of the gates firing, scoring the first seven goals of the game within the first 10 minutes. But the Hawks responded with six scores of their own, the first five of which came from Jinks. The Red Storm closed off the half with a pair of goals to take a 9-6 lead into the locker room. St. John's rally continued out of the break, as it netted the first four goals of the third to extend its lead to 13-6 with 7:15 left in the stanza. Jinks and Ty Thompson would close the gap down to five (13-8) late in the third, but the Red Storm scored five of the final seven goals to seal the win.
