– The Lafayette men's lacrosse team couldn't sustain its offense on Saturday afternoon in Hamilton, New York, as Colgate used a lengthy second-half run to down the Leopards by a 16-7 score in Patriot League action. The Leopards fought back after a 5-2 deficit to end the first quarter to within two, 6-4, heading into the final few minutes before halftime. However, a three-goal run from the Raiders into the halftime break and just three scores for Lafayette in each of the second-half frames swung the game Colgate's way as Lafayette finished on the low side of a 16-7 final. Sophomore Jake Floyd-Jones was a bright spot between the pipes in his 51:45 of action, making 13 saves on the day with 15 goals allowed. Senior Jonathan Anastos relieved Floyd-Jones for the final 8:15 of play, allowing a goal with one save. Offensively, freshman Cole Dutton netted a hat trick, while classmate George Enman, sophomore Bryan Hess and seniors co-captain Conor Walters and Conar Dehnert each added one marker. Dutton's three goals came on just three total shots, an efficient performance for the rookie. Lafayette hung tough at the X with Colgate carrying a 17-9 advantage and led the game in shots, 37-36. Both teams went just 1-for-8 on extra-man opportunities and Lafayette committed 18 turnovers, forcing 16 from the Raiders. The Maroon and White return to Fisher Stadium for their final outing of the year on Friday, April 26, hosting No. 8 Loyola at 7:30 p.m.
