Boston University scored the afternoon's first three goals and never gave up the lead, taking a 12-4 win over Vermont Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field. The Terriers improve to 5-1 on the season while the Catamounts drop to 3-2 in 2019. RELATED LINKS Box Score HOW IT HAPPENED BU's trio of goals came in the opening 4:11 of the first quarter as sophomore Chris Gray tallied his first of the game 45 seconds in and his second goal 4:11 into the quarter during the mini-run. Thomas McConvey and Ben French tallied goals for Vermont as the Terriers took a 4-2 lead into the second quarter. French scored his second of the game and 10th of the season with 4:48 remaining in the first half. From there, BU held Vermont scoreless until Jonathon McConvey's man-up goal with 8:34 to play in the fourth quarter. The Terriers scored five goals to push the lead to 11-4. Nick Washuta made several stops throughout the game to prevent the Terrier lead from expanding further. He finished the game with a season-high 16 saves, just three shy of his career-best. Terrier goalie Joe McSorley made 14 saves in the victory. GAME NOTES The Terriers went 3-for-6 on extra-man opportunities while Vermont went 1-for-5.
