Northwestern dominated from start to finish to win its first Big Ten Tournament title with a win over No. 1 Maryland Sunday afternoon, 16-11. Senior Selena Lasota and first year Lizzy Scane each scored four goals, junior Lindsey McKone had six points on a hat trick and three assists and senior goalkeeper Mallory Weisse made double digit saves yet again to hold the nation's top-ranked team at bay. The Wildcats outscored the Terrapins in the first half, 10-4, thanks to eight saves by Weisse. The 'Cats held onto their lead through the second half and put the an exclamation point on the trophy-raising victory with an empty net goal from sophomore Lauren Gilbert.
