While the focus was on the 10-member senior class for the Lafayette men's lacrosse program on Saturday afternoon, it was sophomore Jake Floyd-Jones that made the most of an opportunity, making 15 saves in his first career start, a 17-4 loss to Bucknell at Fisher Stadium. Floyd-Jones played the first three quarters, while senior Jonathan Anastos made two saves in the fourth. Floyd-Jones allowed 12 goals in his three quarters of action, but kept the Leopards in it with 12 of his 15 stops in the second and third frames. Prior to the game, the Maroon and White recognized the careers and contributions of 10 seniors set to graduate this spring. Lafayette's senior class includes Sam Friedman, Conor Walters, Josh Hubbard, Zack Merle, Connar Dehnert, Jake Korus, Jack Lydon, Jeff Sikorsky, Luke Cummings and Anastos. The loss drops the Leopards to 4-9 on the year overall and 0-6 in conference action. Bucknell's victory improves the Bison to 4-8 this season and 2-4 in Patriot League play. Dehnert led the Leopards offensively with a pair of scores on the afternoon, while Walters and junior Robbie Garavente were the other goal-scorers. Freshman Ryan Kirkwood registered a pair of caused turnovers and junior Chris Adamo picked up a team-high five ground balls. Shots favored the visitors by a 44-31 margin and ground balls went Bucknell's way as well, 43-21. The Bison won 13-of-24 faceoffs and both teams struggled on extra-man opportunities, converting one each on a combined 11 attempts. Lafayette returns to action when it travels to Hamilton, New York next weekend for a meeting with Colgate on Saturday at 1 p.m.
