In what would turn out to be a D3 postseason classic, the top ranked RIT Tigers men's lacrosse team hosted the Wesleyan Cardinals in Rochester, NY with a birth in the 2018 D3 National Title game on the line. In this showdown of offensive talent, the Cardinals led for most of the game and pulled away early in the fourth quarter, taking a17-9 lead with just under nine minutes to play. However, RIT's would rack up nine goals in the final eight minutes, eventually cutting the lead to one in the final seconds. Wesleyan would hang on however, defeating the Tigers 19-18 to earn here first ever trip to championship weekend.
