How it Happened • Hopkins jumped out to a 3-1 lead less than 10 minutes into the opening quarter. Junior Madison McPherson opened the scoring at 12:49 when she beat Kaitlyn Larsson with a left-handed shot late in the possession clock. Elli Kluegel answered three minutes for the Greyhounds to knot the score at one. The Blue Jays then got back-to-back free position goals from Georgia Esmond and Charlotte Smith to stake the Jays to a 3-1 lead with 5:31 to go. • Livy Rosenzweig pulled Loyola back within one with a free position goal with 1:53 to play in the first. She then opened the second quarter with an unassisted tally to tie the game at three. Sam Fiedler followed with a goal from the left alley, just beating the possession clock, to put Loyola up, 4-3. • Junior Bailey Cheetham converted a free position shot at the 3:17-mark to pull Hopkins even. The tie was short-lived however as Loyola answered with a five-goal run that spanned nearly 13 minutes and bridged halftime. Rosenzweig kick-started the run with a free position goal at 2:32 remaining in the second. Chase Boyle capped the run at 4:36 in the third to stake the Greyhounds to a 9-4 lead.
