ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team played in its regular season finale on Tuesday night and it was a big one. The battle for the No. 3 seed for the MIAA Tournament was on the line. Adrian picked up the victory on Tuesday night by a score of 9-6 to move to 4-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs trailed 3-2 after the first quarter on Tuesday night. Chris French started the scoring six minutes into the game on an unassisted goal. With 4:45 to go in the quarter, French struck again to make it 2-0. Trine went on to score three unanswered goals including one at the buzzer with a second remaining to take a 3-2 lead. The Adrian defense got to work in the second quarter holding the Thunder scoreless. French tied the game 3-3 early in the second quarter to give himself his third goal of the game. With 6:44 left in the half, Travis Fox added a goal to take the lead followed by a goal from Brett Koczenasz to lead 5-3 at the break. Coming out of halftime, the defense continued to hold Trine scoreless. The lone goal in the third quarter came from Koczenasz to make it a 7-3 game. Trine finally answered in the fourth quarter , but three and a half minutes later Peyton Gasche scored to lead 8-4. Trine put the Adrian lead back to three, but French netted his fourth goal of the game to answer back. Trine responded with a man-up goal with under two minutes to go, but couldn't pull closer allowing the Bulldogs to grab the win. French finished with five points on the day with four goals and an assist while Koczenasz racked up four points on two goals with two assists. Cameron Reed recorded three caused turnovers on defense for the Bulldogs to break the single season record for most caused turnovers.
