VERONA, Wis. – ­­­­­The Edgewood College Men's Lacrosse team fell to Northland College 9-5 on Wednesday afternoon. The visiting Lumberjacks scored three unanswered goals in the second period to take a 5-2 lead into halftime. The Eagles notched three goals through the final two periods but it wasn't enough in the non-conference battle. HOW IT HAPPENED - Edgewood College (3-2) struggled to find the back of the net through the second and third periods on Wednesday. Despite only allowing nine goals, which ties their season low allowed, the Eagles attack only managed to put 15 of their 47 shots on goal. - After falling behind 2-0 in the first nine minutes of play, Edgewood College answered with two goals. Avery Bugaj scored the Eagles first goal with 6:01 left to play in the first period. Dylan Oas scored the Eagles second and tying goal with just 2:00 on the clock, assisted by Dylan Bondeson. - Northland College (3-3) scored five straight goals before the Eagles found the back of the net again in the third period. Down 7-2, Oas was determined to take advantage of a man-up situation, scoring his second goal of the game. Tyler Stockwell, assisted by Bugaj, netted the Eagles fourth goal. Edgewood College went into the final period down by just three goals (7-4). - Tyler Stockwell gave the Eagles hope in the fourth period, scoring the fifth goal of the game with the help of his brother Blake Stockwell. - Jakob Wohlford led the way for Northland, scoring five goals. - Luke Quakenbush notched 11 saves in goal for the Eagles, also collecting a career-high nine ground balls. Bugaj also collected a career-high nine ground balls. Alek Maurer caused a career-high five turnovers for the Eagles. The Eagles won 9-of-17 faceoffs with Bugaj going 4-for-7 and Patano 5-for-10. UP NEXT - The Eagles will hit the road for the first time this season, heading to University of Dubuque on Saturday. Action from Oyen Field is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
