PHILLIPI, W.Va -- The Alderson Broaddus Men's Lacrosse team won their 2022 home opener against D'Youville College, 18-3 on Monday afternoon at the Multi-Sports Performance Stadium. Conner Calmbacher, who was named the GMAC Player of the Week from last week during the game, led AB with five goals. Calmbacher opened the scoring less than five minutes into the game to get the Battlers on the board. Goals from Jacob Porter, Cameron Russo, Zac Vereen, and then Calmbacher again gave Alderson Broaddus the 5-0 lead after the first. The steady rain that was persistent throughout the game picked up in the second, as did the visitors. The Saints tallied two goals before Alderson Broaddus responded with goals from Tanner Delorme, to return the lead to five. Braxton Roman scored twice before halftime to give AB the 9-2 lead at the break. A pair of goals while up a man in the third quarter from Delorme and Roman gave Alderson Broaddus the 11-2 lead. Russo, Delorme, and Calmbacher added to their tallies to make it 15-3 after three. Calmbacher and Roman added two more in the fourth quarter, before Cameron Millar finished off the scoring, making it 18-3. Noah Christopher made 10 saves in the contest. The AB Men's Lacrosse team will be at home again on Friday, March 11th when they host St. Thomas Aquinas. Match time will be 1:00 PM from the Multi-Sports Performance Stadium.
