Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Butler women's lacrosse team (4-3) fell on the road to Duquesne (3-4) 19-16. How it Happened: The Bulldogs got on the board first in the game when Greer Bireley found the back of the net on an assist from Lindsey Schreiber. Morgan Cox scored the Bulldogs second, and Schreiber tallied her second assist of the day. Duquesne held the lead 3-2 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was explosive for the Dawgs. Campbell Connors, who leads the team in goals, dominated the Dukes in the second. Connors scored four goals in the quarter, which helped the Bulldogs build a lead before the half. Holly Hall and Lindsey Schreiber each added two in the quarter, while Gabryelle Bodine added one as well. Butler held an 11-8 lead heading into the second half. The Dukes outscored the Dawgs 6-3 in the third to even the score up at 14 all. Connors netted her fifth of the game on another assist from Schreiber. Schreiber tallied her third goal and fourth assist of the game in the third to continue with her dominant performance. Kaley Attaway added her ninth of the season in the third off of an assist from Kayla Kielbasa. Duquesne would score five goals in the fourth, and the Bulldogs could not overcome the deficit in the final 15 minutes. The Dukes put two in early in the quarter, and the Dawgs could never even things back up. Bodine scored both goals in the fourth quarter to finish with three goals and an assist on the day.
