Iona University, located in New Rochelle, New York, announced the addition of men's lacrosse as its 22nd intercollegiate athletic program, with plans to begin competition in the 2024-25 academic year. The Gaels will compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), joining teams such as Canisius, LIU, Manhattan, Marist, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart, Siena, VMI, and Wagner. In preparation for their inaugural season, Iona appointed Chad Surman as the program's first head coach.
