New East Cost Dyes Mirage Complete Stick Releases

Oct 31, 2016
The new East Coast Dyes Mirage lacrosse head is part of a series of new releases from #ECDnation that offers advanced youth to collegiate level players some of the best options to have a quick release, mid-high pocket combined with a stiff all-purpose design. This head was designed by guys that have been professionally stringing for years, and they understand pocket technology better than most others. This head is specifically designed for two-handed cradlers that want a fast-release and shoot on the run power. It is really all about the channel on this lacrosse head - East Coast Dyes made the Mirage so that no matter where that mid-pocket ends up, there is a quick release at the top of the arc. Lets take a closer look. [caption id="attachment_20051" align="aligncenter" width="600"]ECD Mirage ECD Mirage Lacrosse Head[/caption] Lets start with the offset design and the sidewall. ECD kept it simple and strong on the sidewall design. A few well placed trusses convey power and lightweight stiffness. What we really liked was the minimal offset. Some head designs have the effect of sweeping the scoop back too far, just because they feel the head needs to be offset. That gives a funny feeling of holding the ball to high in the pocket while running the lines. ECD kept the scoop flatter and as a result the ball sits more in the middle, where the channel gets started. This gives the feeling of well balanced cradling and ball control that developing youth players really need and high school and collegiate middies demand. Next let’s look at the East Coast Dyes Mirage stringing hole setup.  You can see our Pro string one up live here.   As we have described earlier, it’s all about that mid-pocket. It can be strung mid-high or mid-low but the release point for each is right at the top of the shooting arc.  ECD also designed a cool setup at the base of the throat which give stringers a few options for closing off the base of the pocket. As professional stringers know, this allows them to start the channel higher or lower in the pocket and can determine how quickly passes come out versus how the player wants to carry the ball. The East Coast Dyes Mirage Striker is really cool because it has two vertical stripes down the center and shows you whether the pocket channel is straight or not. You can also clearly see how the ball is settling in the pocket when it is resting and how the balance of the pocket is lying. We really like the hero mesh option for advanced youth players who may think they know how they like their stick - but could really use a professional pocket. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CONSISTENT, ALL-WEATHER POCKET THAT IS PERFECT FOR ADVANCING YOUTH PLAYERS… THAN THE MIRAGE WITH ELITE POCKET IS ONE OF THE BEST OPTIONS ON THE MARKET. Lastly, East Coast Dyes has paired the Mirage men's lacrosse head with two shaft options that come with the Elite pocket. The East Coast Dyes Elite Pocket with Carbon shaft would be the best option for collegiate and high school level players that want some extra whip in those shots with a shaft that offers some flex. Step down and shooting on the run power is what the ECD Carbon shaft delivers. The East Coast Dyes Focus shaft is a best-seller all on its own and prized for ultra-lightweight and slightly sandy grip. When paired with the Mirage you are getting a very lightweight combo that delivers top level performance and great balance.
