With the end of the 2017 college lacrosse regular season on the horizon, the thirteenth ranked Princeton University men’s lacrosse team traveled to Long Island for a non-conference showdown with the Stony Brook Seawolves at Kenneth Lavalle Stadium. The Tigers entered the game with a 6-3 record on the season while Stony Brook sat at 5-4 before the start of this pivotal match up. The trend would continue until the end of the second where back to back goals by Alex Corpolongo and Ryan Bitzer would give Stony Broom a 7-6 lead at the half. The teams would continue to trade goals until the fourth quarter when the high powered Princeton offense took the game over, leading the Tigers to a 13-11 win. Tigers Senior attack man Gavin McBride led all scorers with five goals while freshman sensation Michael Sowers tallied four points on three goals and an assist. Tom Haun recorded a hat trick to lead the way for Stony Brook. Princeton will next look to continue its winning ways when it stays on the road with a trip to Lehigh while the Seawolves will travel to Burlington for a showdown with Vermont.
